Range Rules

We want to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable on our Ranges. Here’s a list of rules that we ask you follow when on the Range to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.

General Rules

  1. Always treat your firearm as if it is loaded
  2. Always point your firearm down range
  3. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
  4. Always be aware of your target and what is beyond it
  5. Always wear eye and ear protection
  6. No uncased firearms outside of your shooting lane
  7. Do not load your firearm outside of your shooting lane
  8. Do not reach beyond the firing line
  9. Do not shoot the floor, ceiling, walls, or any range equipment; all rounds must impact the back stop
  10. Do not use tracer, steel core, buckshot, or birdshot ammo; see associate for complete list of banned ammo
  11. Do not draw from a holster and fire
  12. No rapid-fire, bump, or slide-fire devices
  13. No fully-automatic fire
  14. Maximum of 2 shooters per lane
  15. Always use ammo purchased from Shoot Point Blank in rental firearms
  16. You may pick up your own brass; all other shell casings must be swept past the firing line
  17. No instructing on Shoot Point Blank’s range, unless you are a certified Shoot Point Blank instructor
  18. No pregnant women on the range
  19. No low-cut shirts; wear appropriate attire to shield from hot shell casings
  20. No open-toed shoes; shooters wearing sandals must purchase a set of shoe covers from the range counter
  21. No alcohol, illegal drugs, or any other form of impairment while on Shoot Point Blank property
  22. No food or drink on the range
  23. No smoking or smokeless tobacco in the store or on the range
  24. We recommend washing your hands after using the range

Age Restrictions

  1. Must be 18 or older to use the range unaccompanied
  2. Minors (below 18 years old) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and be at least 48” tall
  3. All shooters above 18 must possess a valid state-issued ID or US passport
  4. Must be 21 or older to possess or rent a handgun
  5. Must be 18 or older to possess or rent a long-gun

Illinois Age Restrictions

  1. Must be 18 or older to use the range unaccompanied
  2. Minors (below 18 years old) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and be at least 48” tall
  3. All shooters above 18 must possess a valid state-issued ID or US passport, and a valid Illinois FOID card or CCW license, unless considered a second shooter accompanying a shooter with an Illinois FOID card or CCW license
  4. Must be 21 or older to possess or rent a handgun
  5. Must be 18 or older to possess or rent a long-gun
