Range Rules

We want to make ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable on our Ranges. Here’s a list of rules that we ask you follow when on the Range to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.

4 Universal Safety Rules

  • All firearms are considered loaded at all times
  • Always point firearms in a safe direction (downrange, the ground, etc.), until on target and ready to fire
  • Always keep your trigger finger straight along the frame until on target and ready to fire
  • Always know your target and what is behind it

GENERAL RANGE RULES

Procedures

  • First time visitors cannot rent firearms unless accompanied by another individual
  • Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times
  • When not shooting, stay behind the shooting bay or marked lines
  • Please refrain from shooting the floor, ceiling or walls of the range, however we realize accidents happen
  • Every effort should be made for rounds to impact the back stop
  • No more than 2 shooters per lane
  • As a courtesy to the next shooter, sweep your casings past the firing line after shooting
  • You may pick up your own brass THAT FALLS BEHIND YOUR SHOOTING BAY OR FIRING LINE
  • Firearm Instructors are prohibited from instructing on Shoot Point Blank’s range, unless they are a certified Shoot Point Blank instructor
  • Failure to follow these instructions gives Shoot Point Blank the right to remove individuals from the premises

Firearm and Ammunition Handling

  • Keep the muzzle pointed downrange at all times
  • Use only ammunition safe to use and of proper caliber for your firearm
  • Shotguns permitted on the range, using slug ammo only (no buckshot allowed)
  • Incendiary, tracer and steel core ammunition is not permitted on the range. For additional ammunition restrictions, please see an associate
  • Please keep all firearms cased until you are at the firing line
  • Drawing from a holster is prohibited
  • To ensure the safety of others and the range facilities, rapid fire is prohibited
  • All rented firearms must use ammunition purchased at Shoot Point Blank, no personal ammo allowed
  • Firearms kept outside the range booth must be unloaded and have the action or slide locked back

Shooters

OH/KY/IN/TN/TX
  • All shooters 18 years of age or older must possess a valid state issued ID or US passport
  • You must be 18 years of age or older to use the range unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
  • Minors accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must be 48” in height
  • Shooters must be 21 to rent or possess a handgun on Shoot Point Blank’s range
  • Shooters between 18 and 20 may shoot and rent long guns as well as purchase long gun ammunition

IL
  • All shooters 18 years of age or older must possess a FOID card or CCW license to use the range, unless considered a 2nd shooter
  • 2nd shooter permitted without a FOID or CCW if 1) 18 years of age or older with a valid state issued ID or US passport and 2) accompanied by a shooter with a valid Illinois FOID card or CCW license
  • Minors accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must be 14 years of age or older
  • Shooters must be 21 to rent or possess a handgun on Shoot Point Blank’s range
  • Shooters between 18 and 20 may shoot and rent long guns as well as purchase long gun ammunition

 
  • Pregnant women are not permitted on the range
  • Wear appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes (required) and pants are recommended, no low cut tops
  • Please feel free to use our lounge during your time at Shoot Point Blank, but food and drink are prohibited on the range
  • Alcohol, illegal drugs or any other form of impairment is not allowed while on Shoot Point Blank property
  • Smoking/smokeless tobacco is prohibited in the store and the range
  • It’s strongly encouraged to wash your hands after using the range
  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason
